    Hello there!

Well I have a big concern which doesn't even let me sleep so please give me some advice. OK so basically I'm doing BTEC level 3 Business and in my first year I got DDD, I'm planning to get DDD in my second year too so I have D*D*D* as an overall grade. The only thing that I am worried about is my GCSEs.. I have C in English and Maths but most of the unies that I want to go to ask for B or A. I emailed them asking if I still have the chance to get in and they gave me the negative answer. They only want DDD for BTEC so I could easily get in but my GCSES! I want to go Queen Mary, City or Kings College.

I need your advice whether I should still try to apply to these unis, or retake my GCSES (which will be too late in my opinion) or what should I do.

    Thanks guysssssss.

There's no harm in applying to maybe 2 of these universities, but definitely don't fill all 5 spaces with unis asking for above what you have. If you make the rest of your application strong enough (personal statement, extra curricular, work experience) they may be willing to overlook that. As for retaking your GCSEs... I'm not sure, maybe talk to the careers advisor at your school? But yeah I do think that's too late.

I think you should still apply for them and see what happens (you never know) but also apply for Uni's where they don't require such high GCSE results and make sure these uni's are also ones that you'd be happy to go to if you are not successful with the other two.

When I was applying for Uni's I chose two top universities which done my course but I go rejected (which I knew i would but it was a chance to take) and I also chose a few other Uni's which I'd be really happy to go to and got into that instead So not too bad

You can retake during your final BTEC year, and it won't be too late - you'll just write on your UCAS form that you're resitting, and your predicted grade, and unis will take that into account.

If you are not going to retake the GCSEs then it is unlikely that they will will give you offers

You could call admissions (wait a week as they are busy at the moment) for the courses that interest you and ask them - perhaps they will say something different
