I don't know if I'm just being stupid or not but I've found out that I got in to Sheffield Hallam and I applied for accomodation earlier this year. Should I reapply or will they send me a letter/email letting me know whether I've been accepted or rejected?

You should have received an email or a contract sent to your address by now from the accommodation that you have selected as your first choice and accepted. If you are still yet to receive anything from halls of residence, I suggest calling Accommodation Services SHU or Unite students (whoever you have applied for) and see what is being done in your accommodation process.

I don't know what the procedure is for private halls but if you applied through the Sheffield Hallam Accommodation Service (or whatever it's called), and have confirmation of this then you shouldn't have to do anything. They'll send you out a pack with your allocated halls, room and a bunch of forms to fill out and flyers etc. The general rule is that Universities send this out within a week of results though I think I received mine pretty sharpish-possibly even the day of the results.
If you're worried, get in touch but bare in mind that they'll be swamped with trying to sort everyone out and will be being bombarded with people in similar situations as yourself.
