Bulking up and sexual energy. A question. Watch

    I want to know who else experiences the same sort of thing. When I have been on a serious bulk in the past, I reached a peak body weight of 14 stone 5 lbs (I am about 5 foot 11 inches to give you an idea). I had quite a bit of fat on me but I was quite huge, strong and had decent shape to me (I wasn't just a fat mess).

    Well my sexual energy was very high at that point. I didn't look amazing, but my sex drive was high, I was waking up with erections every day, I was viewing even ugly women in a sexual way.

    Now I am a lot lighter. Just short of 12 stone. My strength levels have dipped but not significantly so. I looked more defined and not so much fat. But my sexual energy levels have plummeted now I am a lighter weight, not lifting as much, not eating as much etc.

    Who else experiences this? Is it normal to experience this?

    So when you're not bulking you don't wake up with erections? I'm sure this isn't normal

    I make tents every morning and would be worries if I didn't.

      It's simple confidence really. We associate fitness with getting more women, which is just the stereotype that has always existed. So you start to see yourself as the most attractive person in the world. It's all in the mind. It's the same with erections. Your mind creates the erection.

      If you're cutting too fast there are obviously hormonal implications as well as a lack of energy, so no this is not surprising. It can also be a sign of overtraining (are you over training?). Are you getting enough carbs? You should increase your carbs and protein on a cut. Carbs > preworkout, you'll have energy in the gym and in general life

      Doesn't sound like a lifting-specific problem.
      When you're not eating as much as you were (I assume you went on a cut?) your baseline dopamine levels drop which affects appetite, sex drive etc.
      You shouldn't be getting any problems by just not lifting/eating like you were before but combined with problems such as genetically low baseline dopamine, addiction (especially porn addiction if your morning rock has gone), depression etc would explain it.

      It could also have been a poor cutting diet - not getting enough fats for example.

      I get similar, but I'm substantially lighter than you were so it's not really an issue of absolute size. If you're bulking you're going to have:

      High energy
      High testosterone
      Lots of strength
      Probably more confidence

      All these things kick up sex drive.

      I don't get ragers no more in the morning and my sex drive doesn't seem as high as it was...even more reason to dabble with steroids in the future.

      I dunno about bulking increasing sex drive, but cutting definitely decreased it for me. Like, massively. But then that was my first (and only!) "cut" and I had no idea what I was doing. I lost over 2lbs per week at 165lb, so I was almost certainly going way too fast.
