Clearing runs until mid-September, but the number of available places will decrease dramatically over the next few days. The sooner you apply, the more choice you will have.

Have the uni given you a deadline? If not, fully assess your options and add it straight away.

Unis making offers may give you a deadline to respond by. Clearing runs into mid September.

If the university have made you an offer over the phone, they will normally specify they will hold it for 24 or 48 hours so you can update track. If they did not specify, and you want to take the place, I would try to make sure I had it on track within 24 hours, as this will secure you the place. If you are unsure, and want to see if you will get any other clearing offers, either ring the university back to confirm how long you have to accept, or try and get some other offers within the next 24 hours.

24-48 hours from the time that they make you the offer.

If they have said this to you in relation to an offer then you should decide and reply by midnight if you want to go. They can put any sort of time limit they want on verbal offers made in clearing, provided that the student can reasonably do this, and track is likely to update in time. Clearing is a bit of a free for all.

    That said, I don't think it's common.

Ah, I'm just over thinking really. I'm holding a verbal but I forgot to ask the time limit! I know, pretty silly
