    Hi,

According to Cardiff and Swansea Uni, Welsh domiciled students starting a degree in September 2014 will still be subsidised by the government so that they only end up paying £3.5k a year (as opposed to the £9K fee). However, does this offer still extend to Welsh students wanting to studying in England or is it now only applicable to Universities in Wales?

I know for 2013 entry it applies to Welsh students studying anywhere. Whether they've changed this for 2014 I don't know, but it seems unlikely.

I was surprised that they are going to carry on subsidising Welsh students for courses in 2014. I remember all the panic about trying to get into uni when the government announce the fee increase. But in reality, it didn't really affect welsh students.

I really can't see how they're going to afford it, the Assembly is strapped for cash as it is and it's not going to make much of a difference because most students won't end up paying all of it back anyway.

I agree but they are still doing it so... who knows!
