Hi, I was hoping someone could help me out, results day (AS level) did not go as well as I wanted I was hoping to get AABD in Biology, Chemistry,Economics, and Maths respectively however I achieved BBCE. I had an awful year I was the main career for my two ill and elderly grandparents who both passed away in March days apart and I spent hours in hospitals with them which took a toll on my results. I was hoping to go study bio-medical sciences/anatomy and i had specific uni's in mind but requirements ranged from AAA-ABB, I don't know what to do ? Should I retake my AS levels? would this prevent me from going to a Russel group/1994 uni ? I didnt want to do loads of retakes next year seeing as January exams have been scrapped ?

If you work hard next year, it should only take a little bit extra to claw those marks back . Naturally, if you feel more comfortable retaking the year, then do that (it shouldn't, and won't influence your application). It just depends on how comfortable you are with more pressure and more difficult work

Well then, from personal experience, my friend who got EEE at AS, retook, got AAA at A2 and is now studying Biological Sciences at Imperial is lying to me... . You have some exceptional circumstances, which, so long as is mentioned on your UCAS form (so let your reference writers now), shouldn't put you at a disadvantage :nah:
