Hi, while I know I may have left it too late I need advice.

I have not yet applied for a college as I was hoping my GCSE grades would be enough to get be back into the sixth form of my secondary school. As the date for the results nears I am getting increasingly worried that I will not have gotten the grades I needed.

I'm hoping to apply at Birmingham Metropolitan College but I don't know if it's too late.

If it is what are my options?

    Thanks in advance.

Hi there, when you find out your results contact Birmingham College as soon as possible and explain your circumstances. Some colleges will still accept you if you didnt get the grades you need and some will accept you and you'll have to re-sit the GCSE whilst taking A-levels/AS'

Actually there are no pre requirements for advanced levels these are set by your college institution (source: AQA specifications) so if you don't get the grades you may still be able to convince them that you know enough to study the subjects.

You have left it a little late to be honest; I would be very surprised if there are any places still available for you so you should check immediately with the college; most people who applied to AS levels most likely already have conditional offers and if they get there results they will get in and you will not (some may fail though so you may still be able to get in).
