I honestly thought I'd be going through clearing so I didn't bother applying for accommodation at all.
I know there's no hope of getting accommodation in university halls now, but that doesn't bother me.

I've been wanting to apply to some private halls of residence, those listed on QM's website. Not interested in house sharing or any of that. Is it too late for this? Most of them seem to have been sold out

I've read the guides on QM about landlords and tenancies...I don't know what any of this means
    Do private halls have landlords?

And I've noticed during booking that it asks how many weeks I want, like 44 or 51 weeks. I have no idea! I'm a first year undergrad, so how long is that usually??
    I'm so confused.

    Hi,

Like you I am starting in September. It is not too late to apply for private halls of residence. There are some spaces available on the QM website for private halls of residence. I am under the impression that private halls of residence are run very much the same way (although not exact) as QM student on-campus accommodation. As for the number of weeks, it depends, 51 weeks covers you for a full year, where as the 44 weeks covers you for the term time. I am not 100% sure but I am sure someone with a bit more insight will post soon.
Sorry I can't be of more help.

It's never too late. You could book a single en-suite at Hilton or Sheraton or Buckingham Palace. It all depends on your budget: the sooner, the cheaper.
