Hi guys:3 I'm sure this isn't a problem for most of you but WHY ARE RESULTS GIVEN SO LATE?!
For example GCSE results are next Thursday, if you fail you ONLY have a week to sort yourself out during which all schools/colleges are basically shut and you don't know where to turn to.
In all honesty I think exams should be taken during February half term and given back at Easter/may, that then gives pupils 1-2 months to sort themselves out and plan INCASE THEY FAIL and everywhere will be open to ask for help too (:

If exams are take around February time, you won't have time to learn every thing for your exams.

Because exam boards enjoy making students unhappy

It's worse for A-levels. It might be out a week earlier than gcses, but if you have to go through clearing or adjsutment to find a different uni, it doesn't give you long to find somewhere to live and get everything roganised to move down there. I mean Portsmouth have a house hunting event on the 31st aug-4th sept, but thats less than 2 weeks before we enroll !

But there wouldn't be time to learn the content if exams were took earlier. The only solution would be to hire more people to mark papers so they could get through them quicker.

Because there are so many exams which need marking and the exam boards don't want to rush it. If they were taken any earlier you wouldn't have enough time in school to learn everything for them.

You would have a few months to learn a whole syllabus- assuming this is for GCSE, if you were starting in Year 10 and didn't have any prior knowledge to the subject then you would struggle.
