    i am just wanting to know the arguments for and against minimum wage economically.

    and in a welfare state as ours does it not indirectly set a minimum wage as employers will have to pay equal/more to what they would otherwise get as benefits.

    I'm for a set minimum wage (although I could argue it should be higher!), otherwise they'll find even more ways to screw workers out of a decent wage where they can actually support themselves.
