    Hey

Just to get an idea of how much money to bring...how much are you guys planning on spending during freshers week? I had some money saved up but with my Deposit paid + rent for the first month i won't have much..(My loan won't get to me till maybe the 25th :/) I think i will have around £200 but thats including the money i need for food too

I've put £300 aside just for socialising during Freshers...
So £50 per night plus 1 night during the week off.

200-300 sounds about right if your not daft and pre-drink wisely... though to be honest my plan is to spend as little as possible without missing out on anything, I've got a small amount of savings that should hopefully see me through but i've still got to buy all my essentials like bedding and god only knows where my first rent installment is coming from. Anyone know if your over draft can be used for that, as in will it be active before the start of term?

For overdraft it is always best to check with the bank first...cos the rent won't be a small overdraft either it would be around £450 right? so u deffo need to talk to ur bank and maybe ur parents to see if they can help out a bit and u pay them back and the rest can be overdraft?

Yer i've just set up a student account with co-op waiting for them to get back to me about it and my over draft would easily cover it but i don't know if you can use that pre-term.

as you say banks the best place to go to ask...

Fingers crossed i get my bike sold before i move as that would solve all my money issues!

Will we really be needing this much? I don't plan to go to all the events considering I'm travelling in from about an hour or so away.

During my freshers I think I spent around £250, on food and drinks, club entry and random crap you always seem to buy during fresher's week. If you really do it frugally though, you could probably get away with a budget of £150
