    Hi

Any advice would be much appreciated. My As results where slightly disappointing for me. I got:

    A English
    A Drama
    C Sociology
    C Philosophy

I new philosophy was a no goer and was actually surprised I got a C was expecting a D as I sort of gave up half way thorough it as I was really struggling and was going it to drop it anyway. I was disappointed with Sociology as was hoping for a B.

I want to go to Uni and study English. My questions are:

Do you think it is worth resitting Unit 1 of Sociology where I got the C. I got a B in Unit 2 or will that effect my A2 studies?

Would it still be possible to get a B in Sociology at A2 without a resit? My exam was AQA and got 50 marks in unit 1 (c) and 86 in Unit 2 (b)

Do you think my teachers will predict me a B in Sociology so I get predicted AAB and this will give me a chance to apply to some decent universities?

If I work really hard next year would I have any chance in raising that C to an A and try for my preferred Uni so far (Leeds) (still need to visit some more in September) where the offer for English is AAA or is there no point?

Any advice would be much appreciated as I am so confused. With a prediction of AAC which are my AS results I won't get any offers in English from any decent Uni!

Try Cardiff through clearing they still have spaces for English Language. They are asking for ABB so your grades might be excepted.

    Good luck

In sociology you were 4ums off a B, so you can get an A if you get 184 UMS in your units 3 and 4! Which, actually, could entitle you to an A* as its over 90% in your A2 units! You'll have to work really hard though!!

With all four units in Socio, you'll need 320 UMS to get an A.

To secure it though it's probably worth retaking the lower module and totally worth apply to those high unis as long as your teacher predicts the grades!
