I have had my iPhone 3GS for about 19/20 months. I am on the Three Mobile network, and I got the phone because it was refurbished and on an incredibly cheap tariff.
About 3/4 months ago I was listening to music on the phone and it just stopped all sound. I have phoned Three on numerous occasions to see if they can help with fixing or replacing my handset, but instead they just run through the same rubbish about cleaning the headphone jack with a cotton bud and the speaker output with a toothbrush, neither or which have work. I have updated the software, I have reset the setting, I have checked the mute button and volume controls etc etc etc. The only way I can answer calls and listen to voicemails is through headphones, which is a real pain in the **** as I can't actually hear the phone ring. I must add that my phone is out of warrenty.
I have a few questions.
1) is it worth taking to Apple and asking them to help? (Southampton Branch)
2) will they charge me for the service and repairs on a fault?
3) does anyone know of a way to fix this fault manually?
Has yours come through yet?
