I think its slighlty careless to say that it will only affect lower grades because I know many people that are struggling to revise why the world cup is on and that consists of people with provisional admissions to Oxford,Lse,Ucl and Warwick for myself and i do think its a large factor that may affect results but whether the exam boards will see it in the same light is rather doubtful
I've watched every game of the World Cup so far and done no revision for any exams. So I'd agree.

It might lead to people doing worse and consequently the boundaries having to be lowered, but I can't see them lowering them just because the World Cup's been on, it's not really fair is it? Good news for those doing revision I suppose if it means their grades are going to be easier to achieve.

there are more important things than football!

would things like having a parent who has cancer be a reason to get extra points?

its just my stepdad has cancer and we've all (as in the family) been really stressed out lately.. i have 2 exams coming up and just a couple of days ago the docs at the hospice said my stepdad was dying just cos he's been having difficulty breathing.. they admit they jumped to conclusions now but it was hell hearing that news!!

If anything, they should be lowered for Big Brother.

i heard in the news that exam results this year are goin to be one of the worst due 2 bigbrother, world cup and celeb x-factor!
Thats a bit pathetic tbh, I'm watching bits of the world cup, but letting yourself be distracted by BB - and that last minute cramming doesn't make much difference anyway.

"Last minute cramming..." I disagree. It differs from person to person.

It's great. Nobody forces you to watch it, so revise instead if you must .

ive managed to watch pretty much every game and revise.but i suppose it could take the average scores down a bit. And it is a distraction for those easily distracted.
