My as levels didn't go as well as i'd hoped I got an A in English lit, a C in History and Italian, and a U in maths. I'm not too bummed about maths as I was gonna drop it anyway because I hated it, but now this means that I have to take up another as level in order to pass it - again not my main worry. So I got ACCU, however i'd been hoping for at least AABE. I'm really surprised about my history grade, I really think it's been marked wrong, as I was predicted an A and i'd been receiving near full marks for every practice question I'd been doing in class; I finished both exams withing the time limit, and I'd written my answers in exactly the same style I'd done before. Does anyone else feel that they've been severely under marked? I was thinking of getting my scripts back and giving them to my teacher to remark, to see whether it's worth paying for a remark. Also, my uni options are: ucl, leeds, york, sheffield and not sure about the 5th one (to do history and english joint honours). It was originally Oxford, but i've scrapped that dream now.
    Sorry for the mega-essay :P

In AS History I'd been expecting an A or at least a high B, Both papers went well. On results day I got 142/200 (1 mark above a C). I was disappointed but my teachers were'nt really that bothered because I got a B. Anyway I got one teacher to look over my Unit 2 paper, she said I deserved at least 8 raw marks which = 16 UMS. I also remarked Unit 1 because my other history teacher told me I received an A in half the paper, but a D on the half. (he found this out on Edexcel ResultsPlus) So I put both in for a remark, they didn't go up as high as we anticipated. Both papers went up by 8 UMS. So I ended up with 158 UMS (1 mark off an A). If you feel you did much better at least get the script back. You never know.

Ive got a similar situation kind of! I got a B in history overall, but one paper was an A and the other was a D. Im not meaning to sound arrogant, but I've never got a D in any past papers or anything and like you, I was predicted an A!!!!

Im going to get my paper back and get my teacher to see if I genuinely messed up or if I do deserve a few more marks, but im just doubtful it wont go up by as much as I would like

Thanks that seems really encouraging, and yeah I really think i've been marked wrong, I really don't know what happened. I got a B on one paper and a C on the other and ending up getting 3 ums off a B. What course is it our planning on doing, and at what unis?

What did you get in your other a levels? Do you think I still stand a chance at UCL? It's A*AA and i'll probably be predicted A*AB (which is really generous) based on my results

I've finished sixth form now (As of yesterday). I got ABBB at AS and applied for Law at York, Exeter, Warwick, Kent and Leeds, with offers from all of them. 3 UMS really is not that much considering each raw mark = 2 UMS.

I'd have to go up by 11/12 raw marks in order to get an A, do you know of anyone who's done that?
