Help with priority remarks and advice on changing universities Watch

Hey so basically I found out yesterday that I was unsuccessful at both my firm and insurance to study psychology, which were the University of Birmingham (AAB) and the University of Loughborough (ABB). I found out my results were BBC but I was only 1 mark off a BBB and 4 marks off getting ABB, so I put in for a priority remark for history (C) I went through clearing and ended up gaining a place at Sheffield Hallam University.

I've been thinking and now I'm planning on getting a priority remark in Psychology too to see if by any miracle I could gain 4 more marks, but I will have to wait till Monday to enter this now. Long story short, say if I were to get the marks back and I'd improved to ABB does anyone think there would be any point in ringing Birmingham to see if they would be willing to accept me? (I was originally hoping if I got ABB, due to this years quota, they might accept me)
The other issue is that I read that once you've accepted a place somewhere there is no way of changing universities for 2013 and you would have to wait until 2014 to apply, so does this mean that even though it would be the examiner's mistake I would still be unable to change my place?

Sorry for how long this is, I know this is probably a long shot and very unlikely to happen but i'd regret not trying I just wondered if anyone could advise me? Thanks

You need to ring Birmingham now and tell them you're getting a remark. They don't have to hold a place for you, but might do so - see what they say. But you need to tell them now so that they can hold a place, rather than spring it on them in a while when they've filled all the spaces.

Thanks for the reply, right okay, unfortunately I was at work all day today and so I haven't had time to ring them so I'm going to have to wait till Monday now! Any chance you know what the latest date is to put in for a priority remark in order for you to be able to get t back in time? (This is another thing I need to do on Monday for my Psychology exams!)
