Curious as one of my friends got three E's at A-Level but he was going through a lot. Will exam boards adjust his grades to DDD (which he needs to get the job he wants)?

No, he will need to resit. My friend was going through anorexia in the first year of A levels, she wasn't in the majority of the first year. She needed to sit the first year of exams in the second year.

Extenuating circumstances can only be claimed for at the time of the exam or immediately after. The maximum allowance available is 5% for the death of a close family member in the immediate period before the exam.
