    Hi

I am completely shocked about my AS results (I expected to get a lot, lot lower), getting:

    A - Politics
    B - History
    A - Fine Art
    C - Philosophy

Before results I was reasonably certain I was going to drop Fine Art considering that I want to apply to Uni to study Politics and International Relations, however would dropping Philosophy give me a better chance of getting into places like York?

I know that Philosophy is relevant to the course so I'm really stuck on what to do, help!

I got ABBD at AS and kept the D subject resat 1 module and got it up to an A! My advice is do what you enjoy - getting a D at AS didn't stop me getting an AAA offer from Lancaster or AAB offers from other uni's!

Also don't hesitate to ask the uni - I checked with mine and they were perfectly happy to answer and they said it didn't matter to them!

Don't underestimate how important having a good teaching department at the school is!

One regret I had was dropping History for A Level (great department, loved the course and excellent teachers)

Clarify with your university which courses are valued and which aren't so much.

I'd rather get AAA in three good A Levels rather than AAC in relevant subjects. But that's personal choice of path.

Art is the odd one out, but philosophy is anchoring you down.
