I am going to South Africa on Sunday and I was wondering if anyone knew what food I could bring into the country in my hand luggage and hold luggage. I am going to the middle of nowhere and will need food for two weeks. Obviously I am aware there is food in South Africa, but I will not have the chance to pick up food before I have to head off camping so it makes sense to take it with me. Is there some advice on some sort of government website I could look at (either SA or UK)?

As long as the food is processed it should be okay.

What do you mean that you "won't have a chance to pick up food"? Food here is quite cheap and of pretty good quality. Surely you can postpone whatever it is you need to do for an hour to pick stuff up.

Whereabouts in ZA are you travelling?
