    Am I the only one who looks at grade boundaries and UMS conversion tables and thinks:

    I see people on here talking about how they were 'one mark off' in one module etc and I cannot decode the endless lists of digits

    You have raw marks and UMS. Your raw mark is what you actually get in your exam whilst the UMS mark is once the paper has been standardised and all that jazz. Your raw mark as a UMS equivalent and it is the UMS that determines the grade you get.

    Thanks but I understand the theory behind it, and am good at maths, but when I see the hundreds of tables and sheets of numbers...o.O

    You dont need to understand the theory behind how they are generated. The only useful bit of information you'd need is that the grades go up every 10% of the total UMS.
