Hi. I got my AS results back on Thursday and would like some advice about re-marks please?

I got a B in History (77%) but for all the mock exams/essays handed in, my teachers were marking me well over 90%. I didn't feel the exams had been a disaster (you always feel they could have gone better but I didn't feel it was a disaster) and, while I understand that official examiners might be harsher markers, I'm likely to get nervous or whatever in the actual exam etc etc, I'm beginning to wonder about re-marks?

Do you think I should get a re-mark? Is my UMS score likely to go up by enough to get me an A (I'm guessing 80%)? If you get a re-mark do you still get to see your script?

    Thanks for your help.

I've had a closer look and I was 2 raw marks off the A Grade boundary in each module.

Hi, thanks for replying. My total UMS was 154 and I did it with WJEC, so out of 200.

If you're max is 200 and you for 154, then you need 6 marks for an A. With History i'd say you have a chance. Maybe not a big one but its worth a go.

You can choose to get a priority photocopy of script first (deadline next fri 24th) and that will arrive in time for you to still get a remark if you think its worth it. Useful to ask a teacher to look at your completed paper with you.

Or you can get a remark right away and when you get a remark you can at the same time ask for a copy of the remarked script back. Costs a little more as is it be expected.
