Something in my eye

Okay i have no real idea what it is but i have something in my eye, i've tried looking around in a mirror, putting it under water etc but i can't see anything and it still really hurts, its been there for over an hour now. I was outside at the time in a wood and felt something in my eye, been painful since.

Has anyone got any other ideas to get whatever is in there out? its really annoying me not being able to use my left eye properly.

Thanks

It could be a swollen blood vessel in your eye, in which case there is nothing in your eye and it is simply irritated and thus irritating it more will make the problem worse. Give it til tomorrow to go down and if it is still troubling you, get a doctor to look in there properly.

Could be anything really, best go to a doctor though as eyes are not something you want to take chances with.

Try pulling your eyelid down to the bottom of your eye and looking up and down continuously, that sometimes helps to get things out; but really if it's much of a problem you should see a doctor, it could do damage to your eye.

I think its under the top part of my eye lid though, i don't think its a vessel or anything because i briefly saw a small black piece of something in there earlier but i can't see where it is again.

If you can, flip over your eyelid. It may sound a bit gruesome, but it doesn't hurt and you'll be able to see if there's anything in there. It should just stick open until you open your eyelid fully, be careful though.
