    A levels aren't like tiered like GCSEs so over all an E is a pass but its as close to a fail as you can get...

    dont expect to get higher than a C in that subject really without a re-sit

    Yes an "E" is a pass, but it's not good enough as it will drag your predicted grade and your actual grade for A2 down. An "E" is useless, unless you resit or retake a year, there's not much you can do with it.
