How competitive is this course? Particularly the MH branch? And what type of applicant would have the best chances of getting in e.g. grades, experience etc.

All nursing courses are quite competitive since the tuition fee rises. There are less places for MH than Adult usually but it's difficult to say whether that makes it more competitive as it depends on the number of applicants. Usually the universities can give you an idea how many applicants they have had to the number of places available.

Entry requirements range upwards from DD at A Level at places like Dundee, although places with lower grade requirements do sometimes expect more experience and have more competitive interview processes. The more work experience and voluntary work you have, the better. I had so many things to talk about at interview because I'd done a lot of volunteering with different organisations and I definitely think it was the most helpful thing in securing a place.
