Hi, i think my friend may be getting failed by the NHS as she is 20years old and is 4 nearly 5months pregnant with her first child but has slight mental health issues, she is losing weight at a rapid pace due to extreme morning sickness and generally being unwell. She has been in and out of hospital being given anti sickness and saline (i think its saline) through a drip but this does not work at all for her they hospital keep her for like 3-4hours then sends her home, they do not even keep her long enough to run tests , she has got another 4-5 months of this, it is like they dont care they have two lives at risk.

Also her mental health team discharged her too soon but have since re-assigned themselves again they also have her on a medication that is not suitable for pregnant women and did not tell her that until the other day but yet still they have her on them. Im genuinely worried for her and baby cause they dont even keep her long enough to run test and they have her on meds that shouldnt be taken whilst pregnant what can be done if anything ?

Talk to a professional who has nothing to do with her, or the hospital she is being referred to, and if he/she is concerned, it is their job to ensure she is being treated correctly. At least get another professional's opinion confidentially before you do anything.

Thank you hun, i will ask my consultant tomorrow and my doctor also cause its not fair for her and baby as she has enough issues going on, so the hyperemesis gravidarum which is not a joking matter is not needed.

I am doing more for her than the bloody professionals :'(
