Anyone starting their course at the Royal Northern College of music in September?

I'm starting tenorhorn/composition in September. Can't wait to be honest! Am staying in Charles Groves halls too - looks rather swanky! :smile:

Yea - I'm in the National Youth Brass Band so know quite a few brass players going... and happen to know the people I'm sharing with too which is quite handy!

I'm going =). Only i'm doing the new Popular Session Musician course, anyone else doing this? Wish the RNCM had a board or something to meet people before heading out.

Edit: Ah just realised i've revived a dead thread >_<. My bad, it was one of the first things that came up when i searched for RNCM.

What's even worse is that I'm now going into my third year!
Does the Popular Session Course give you a BA or a BMus? Or is it a BTech?

Haha! It's a foundation degree, so an FdA or FdMus or something. I'm not sure what it's equivilant to but i know you can often, if not always, go straight on to complete the 3rd year of a full degree.

just applied for this course for next year, and I really want to get in. Is the course fully subscribed, are there any keyboard players? I play keys, drums and a bit of guitar. what do you play? What was the audition like? I only found out last week about applications having to be in by Oct 1st, its been hectic! any tips you can you give me would be great. Thanks
