my friend had factor 45, kids sun block on the other day and still got sunburnt

You have to reapply it. It isn't a one application a day thing.

be sure to re aply every four hours.. unless it says it lasts longer on the bottle, but re aply just to be on the safe side!

I even burn in winter sun - very annoying! In summer I reapply my sunblock every 30 mins!

use aloe vera gell expensive but great. rele does depend on how burnt you were to how quickly it will heal.

Antiseptic Drapolene cream is amazing for sunburn, it's actually primarily a nappy rash cream :biggrin: but can also be used for minor burns ie sunburn. You can get it from Boots/similar shops easily. It really works, the heat goes out the burn overnight and moisturises your skin. It doesnt completely stop peeling but reduces it.
I would recommend putting sunblock on, reapplying it and if all else fails, try to keep susceptible areas covered, it's a small price to pay.
