Taking supplements/vitamins

My boyfriend takes ENDLESS amounts of supplements, he is a powerlifter but he takes it to the extreme. Its like we are cuddled up in bed but then he has to get up to take all of this crap. He has cupboards full of great big bags of powders and i really think he could damage himself but he is so blumin stubbourn but it really stresses me out, he is just obsessive over it. Can too many supplements be bad for you? and what new approach can i take when talking to him about it.

well if he knows his stuff, then he probably knows the consequeces as well

he knows so much but he is a stubbourn and cocky lad and after 2 and a half years of him constantly building his muscle up, taking this stuff and the gym coming first im finding it a struggle now

yo lynnie - I know your boyfriend. I can't help you with the issue of "the gym coming first" but I can assure you that he knows what he is doing with the supplements. The kinds of things he takes pose no risk whatsoever, and he is very experienced in the area. You know how much he is into lifting - so you can appreciate that he is well informed and sensible in his nutrition/supplementation.

I think you are clearly jealous of your boyfriends elite status in powerlifting. Learn to accept he knows what he is doing and your inability to accept that is your problem. Maybe you should research these supplements yourself, find out what they actually are and then if there are any bad side effects he may stop.

You can provide her with serious links and articles then, and she can read them.

Oh, she fails to mention I am probably one of the strongest powerlifters in the country in at least 1 lift. Not just some goon that lifts weights.

I am 19, 90kg weight caterogy

DL 260kg
Bench 140kg
Squat 200kg

These are all raw, just chalk and a belt. The record I want is Brian Reynolds 20 and under DL record, 316kg I believe. If I go up a weight category(to the 100kg's) I want the 330kg DL record in that category. I have until december 07.

I can only lift 90 on bench press :frown:. I weigh 77kg though.

140kg is impressive though. (I haven't done the others so I wouldn't know.)

I'm sure you know what you're doing though. Good luck with that.

Anything over bodyweight raw is a good lift. Well done yourself. Now get squatting and DLing before I hunt you down and kick us ass

And thank you
