Muscle Aches and fairly quick remedies?

Hi i know this is an extremely boring thread (i was tempted to join the trend and post anonymous hehe but WHY!?), but i was hoping people could give advice on how to help your muscles heal quicker?

I do a lot of gymnastics and obviously after each session feel v achey where i have used muscles extensively (with big warm ups and warm downs mind you), and theres the obvious "eat more protein" and "have a hot bath afterwards" etc, but does anyone have clever tips that help them get back into shape quicker?

I understand there is no quick fix as muscle fibres inevitably take a while to rebuild, but anything to speed up the process/ ease excess pain would be much apreciated.

Cheers!

Ah... ease excess pain won't really come with quicker healing so much. If you strech each muscle after the session, and then every few hours afterwards you should notice that the muscles heal up quicker and thus the pain goes quicker. Streching each muscle will hurt as you are essentially elongating te muscles as well as pulling on the fibres which have already been worked and ripped, but it stimulates the growth and also helps to produce healthier, better shaped muscles. I'm sure there are better ways, but that way works for me. Plus I like the muscle pain, means they are growing:smile:

Ibuprofen gel works for me, cos i get muscles cramps alot, not sure why. Also Deep heat spray is good, (also good if your cold). This won't help them heal but it will stop the pain for a bit.

Sure, just rub on *insert painkiller gel* here, lure yourself into a false sense of security, accidentally go and work out too much one day and rip your arm to shreds.

Pain's there for a reason. Stops you lifting heavy things (such as, uh, you) repeatedly because it's going to do your arms in, for a start. Work out less, that's my only suggestion. Little and often is the best, unless you're just trying to get rid of fat, in which case you should jog or something. But clearly you're not - so little and often it is.
