Month Python:The Search For The Holy Grail
The Passion Of The Christ

The Lord Of The Rings:The Return Of The King-must read the book

The Carebears-kant remember which one, as when i saw it, i didn't know a word of english and was about 5 or 6 years old. so it has sentimental value

Just a few more directors it's worth thinking about:
Russia: Tarkovsky, Eisenstein, Dozhenko
Japan: Ozu, Kurosawa, Ichikawa
France: Renoir, Cocteau, Melville, Carne
All made some superb films.
Some individual film candidates:
The Saragossa Manuscript
Marketa Lazarova
The Magnificent Ambersons
Greed
Napoleon (Gance's version)
