Computer science/ interactive systems- a little help please?

Hi,

Well I'm posting on behalf of my brother as he recently he got his Gcse grades in which he did well and now he's choosing his A levels.

Now, he's really into computers, technology and gaming. In his spare time he creates basic games, edits and records game captures and knows how to work alot of softwares - he is also self-teaching himself some programming language like javascript and C++.

Now he is interested in doing computer science or interactive systems as a degree so my question is (well his question is) what is the main content you learn in computer science? What's the difference between a computer science degree and a degree in interactive systems/gaming? Would it be an advantage to do Science at A level or stick with ICT and Business studies? Also which one is more practical - he is a more hands on type of person and is interested in creating a computer system, developing games etc. Does computer science include everything and allow you to specialise in interactive systems?

Sorry for the long post but it will greatly help my brother (aswell as myself) to see which degree would be best suited to him. Thank you
