Rsi!!!

Hi, i have been working for a builders merchants for about 5 weeks now, and my wrists are killing, when i try to lift things now or even when i move them awkwardly.
Is there anyway to make them feel better :frown: they really hurt, and i have to lift heavy things everyday. cheers

Some kind of wrist support or bandage might help, but they probably need rest. Try to do as little lifting as possible.
wrist supports, lay off the heavy lifting, check your technique and if necessary, apply deep heat and physiotherapy may be a good idea, i sometimes work as labourer moving 7N blocks about, the best technique i find is to lock your wrists in and utilise the stronger arm muscles than flexing your wrists, hope this helps

7N?!?!?!? That's nearly a bag of sugar!

And if you have RSI, you really shouldn't be typing.

yes i know, but you don't carry 1 at a time, you carry four and they weigh approx 3 kilos eack so your looking at 12 kilos or half a bag of cement, still doesnt seem much, but you try doing it all day, it soon deminishes any strength you have

i dont, i'm just stating facts for those that dont know:p:  , funny story but one guy thought my job was easy so we let the guy have a go for an hour and said if he liked it we'd give him a temp place, needless to say he didnt last the hour, all it takes is time and your body becomes used to the riggers of work and adapts
contrast bathing is good..eg have a bowl of really really cold water..and then pretty hot water..and do about 30 secs in each..worked for me
