Don't really know about the bars on campus for beer, (although i think it's all around the £1.70 - £1.90 mark) but the Sugarhouse (our student union night club) is quite reasonable for a night out:

Some Sugarhouse Prices:

Worthington - £1.80
Carling - £1.90
Stella - £2.20
VK - £2.00
Smirnoff Ice - £2.30
Vodka - £1.40
Jack Daniels - £1.50
Bacardi - £1.40
Southern Comfort - £1.40
Sambuca - £1.50
Pints of coke/diet coke/lemonade/tonic - £1.20
Half pints of coke/diet coke/lemonade/tonic - 60p

i believe carling is £1.75. much better than any normal bar but i've still seen quite a bit cheaper at other uni's.

Strongbow is a snip at £1.70, and this brings on the mega cheap price of £1.88 for a snakebite!

Strongbow is great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The bars on campus have fairly stable prices. They're all the same, as far as I'maware. But campus prices range depending on what you're buying. Carling is £1.75, Guinness is £2.20, and ale prices vary.

As for bars in town, they range, but the two wetherspoons and the two scream pubs (keystones & the friary) are cheap.

Varsity is very cheap too.

The only places to avoid really in terms of drinks prices are Revolutions and The Lounge.

i've seen carling near me for £1.59 i'm sure!! but then again it could be just some draw to get the punters in over the world cup.. hmm..

i went in varsity, it was pretty expensive. I've never been back. Although, admittedly, it;s not my sort of place.

Hey, I worked in Grizedale bar but they're all the same on campus...
Carling - £1.75
Strongbow, Worthingtons - £1.70
Coors, Grolsch - £2.15
Guinness - £2.20
Vodka shot - £1.30 (with mixer £1.45)
Most other shorts (JD, Southern Comfort, Malibu, Archers etc etc) are £1.60/£1.65 + 15p mixer!
And for the non alcoholics - cans of soft drinks are 55p ranging up to £1.20 for a J2O.

I'm missing being there farrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr too much!! x
