When i wake up

Its not really a medical problem but i guess it should go in here. You know that period just before you wake up properly when you are lay in bed and you don't actually know if you are awake or not, well every single morning when i wake up theres a song repeating and repeating in my head. For example today i became conscious and after a few minutes i realised that i was repeating the kooks she moves in her own way, over and over in my head. I was wondering if this is normal and happens to anyone else. It seriously happens every morning

Do you leave the radio on overnight?

maybe you listen to music right until you go to sleep and it just sticks in your head? try switching your music off 30 minutes before you're about to sleep. i have no idea why that would help but it's the only thing i can think of.

lol. nope i never have music on during the night or close to when i go to bed. I was afraid i was going mental and ive had some more embarassing songs. Does anyone know why it happens though?
I hear the Radio 1 Chris Moyles Show intro jingle - before I've even streamed the show online!

Strange. You must have listened to the song alot? The psychological name for this is hypnopompic dreaming. (Sorry, had to use it!)

I hate that period of semi conciousness after I wake up. 'What do I need to do today....lie in? Watch Tv? Oh wait, an exam'

Spice Girls:biggrin: lol .....maybe your brain is on a different timezone as your body :dontknow: lol
I get this in the morning sometimes when I've been awake too late the previous night - normally I know I'm awake but can't seem to control myself and can't actually get out of bed. It's more annoying than it is disturbing because it only happens when I don't get enough sleep and have to get up early for something.

Yeah, I dreamed I was eating a giant marshmallow.
When I woke up, one of my pillows was gone !

You've become accustomed to this; when you wake up and find yourself in your own bed and your room, this is a cue for the brain and the brain triggers a set of reactions which stimulate the music centres in your brain thus causing melody initiation.

Try this; next time, if you were to sleep in some other bed, some other room, then when you wake up, you won't get this.

Maybe it's the last thing your brain remembers from the night before, and tends to register it into your memory. I have that a lot as well, but whenever I wake up the first thing I do, is try to pray to God and thank him for another beautiful day.

Sadly not, though some people look as though they have eaten a pillow.

A true story is that friend dreamt that his car would break down the next day, and lo, it did !

Yeah but what some people do while awake is funnier that what they do asleep.

Unless u know some odd things people said in dreams ?

That never happens to me & i always turn on the radio or any other music to listen to just before i go to sleep everyday.
It's a habit of mine.
haha that never happens to me, even tho i fall asleep to music every night. i hate it when you listen to a song on the radio, and as soon as it comes on, you know that you will have it in your head for the another hour! i was driving to soccer training last thurs night and 'its raining men' came on. when i was in the change rooms all my friends were looking at me weirdly because i was whistling it haha. n i didnt even notice lol. oh well..

btw dont worry about it, im sure its nothing serious.
