Coping With Exam Stress

Heres My Tip. Add Yours

*Around 1-3 Days before the exam, dont become obsessed about not being able to answer questions on the paper or worrying about the paper you're least confident at. Instead think about after the exams on results day, think of the relief and all the worries you had being put into a glass ball and thrown into the sea, drifting away from you forever.

I've revised for 2 months and I'm still stressed!!

Hmm my tip would be to stop revising around 8ish the day before the exam, chill out, watch some tele and have an early night. Then just read through your notes once in the morning to refresh your memory on everything

Don't discuss the exam answers with people when you get out, if you got something different you'll just feel poo

In your break write a list of all the things you want to do over the summer when exams are finished! And when you get stressed just think about that

I would only study 2 hours a day, otherwise you are just reading the book without anything going in.

Plus then you get stressed and then anxious and then you can't sleep.

I have tried revising lots every day, but couldnt force myself to do it. I really don't know how people do it constantly all day every day for 6 weeks or more.

We shall see how many plan turns out in August. I haven't found any of the exams too bad so far though.

i havnt done any major revison but so far im well on course for the 280 points i need! So far the exams have gone well and its all come to me quite easily!

I did some revison before and now ive got a banging headache! got exams 2mora so im not going to make myself ill over it!

If i fail then thats life, I wll have to try again!!

Obvious? Maybe.

Revise as much as you feel you need.

Theres no point saying 'everyone should revise 8 hours a day for 6 weeks' etc etc, as everyone is unique.
Also teachers do not know how much you should be revising.
By now you will know your own capabilities, and limits, so you are the best judge of yourself as to how much revision needs doing.
If you be honest with yourself and revise as much as you feel you need to, you can be confident you will do as well as your are capable of, and won't get stressed.
Works for me at least.

It was always the same throughout school as well with homeworks, if I don't feel the work will benefit me, I didn't do it. If I needed to do the work, I did.
You end up with alot more free time and can still acheive your potential in exams.

*Pay attention in class and learn as you go. Its so much easier to revise if you know most of the information already

*Take regular breaks - every 20mins or so

*Dont think negetivly about exams if possible (I know thats easier said than done) If you think positive you'l feel alot better and you may do better in the exam

My alarm is set to go off for 5 am to start revision for my 2 exams tomorrow. Got into bad habits but find it difficult to get out of them.


I have 2 exams on Tuesday. Already failed one of them the first time round.

Isnt it meant to be bragging about how little revision you've done? That would seem cooler to me, anyway.

I have exams tomorrow, tuesday, and wednesday. I find myself in a strange state, knowing that there is lots that I simply haven't learnt. I need 50% overall to continue at university and I know that it is very unlikely that I can even answer 50% of the questions. Yet I don't feel motivated to revise. I just want to do them, fail, and be done with it.

I prefer to revise in big chunks rather than smaller ones. That way, I feel like I know alot more.

Also, I think it's important to take confidence from what you know well, rather than constantly obsess over what you do not know so brilliantly. I dropped over half a stone in about 5 days because of pure panic re: geography.
