Access to Nursing/Science Courses - January entry??

I am wondering if any knows of any Access to nursing courses that start in January based in Birmingham area? My older brother is looking into it but would like to start sooner rather than later and has now missed the September entry.

Also what sort of work experience do Birmingham/Coventry unis look for for nursing courses? He has no previous experience of health care and it would be a complete career change. Is preference given for certain access courses i.e. at different unis or is health preferred over science etc?

I am trying to do my own research but if anyone who has done an access course or has experience of applying could point me in the right direction I'd be grateful.
