FAT poeple should be looked upon in the same way as alcoholics and druggies

Why is it a faux-par for someone to say "i wouldnt date a fat person", but its fine to say, i wouldnt date an alcoholic or drug taker?

In fact, i think most drunks/druggies have more of a chemical addiction, because they want to esccape from reality and it goes too far and they become addicted.

where as fat people equals one thing GREED. im not talking just a little podge. im talking fat people.

and im not talking about exceptional circumstances such as medical conditions (although many of these are just excuses too)/

thoughts?

Whats horrible is when people get so fat that their skin develops an orange peel like texture.. and then they wear tight clothing that doesnt cover them properly.. *throws up*

Extremely fat people yes, slightly fat (plumb) shouldn't though.

Cigarettes have warnings on them, some foods should too.

HAHA, this is hilarious, what about people who take steriods, have medical conditions? And no I totally disagree with this topic. fat people have the same rights as everyone, and don't deserve to be classed as alcoholics.

I know a few people who put weight on because of medication they were taking, and it was the only type they could take due to allergies of other things. Without it they could have died.

I do agree that some people are big beyond belief and if it is affecting their life (mainly their health) then something should be done about it. Though I think the most important thing that needs to be done is no promotion of special diets but heavier promotion of exercise and a healthy diet being able to help you lose weight.
The amount of people that think they can lose weight by just cutting out foods and doing no exercise is scary. Exercise should be done regardless of your weight to keep you healthy.

If by viewing them as the same as alcoholics and druggies you mean using them as a group of people to mock and make yourself feel better because you aren't like them...thats wrong. If you mean they should be able to get help easily then I agree. Who should pay for the help is another matter though.

What about people who are seriously thin? Like skeletal thin? Is that wrong too, then? If we're working with that theory...?

And what is it about fat people? What, are they "lesser" humans - since after all, being fat is such a stigma!

Urgh. People get so worked up with being fat that it then becomes worse, the fat get fatter and the thin get thinner.

Funny; I've scrutinised your profile, and yet at no point do I discern the acronyms 'G.P.' or 'Ph.D'. Care to elucidate?

He's not saying they're lesser humans though, only that they're equivalent to other addicts.

certain kinds of foods.....all fatty , high cal food.

yes they are addicted to the chemical reaction of being full. but i can feel nice a full every day without becoming a big heffer! its just a sign of no regard for ones appearance and more importantly health.
Compulsive overeating - defined by an "addiction" to food. Often seriously depressed.
Binge Eating Disorder - eating large quantities in a short space of time. Quite often partly caused by abuse as a child, or PTSD.

Meds can cause appetites to grow.

Sure, not all fat people can use these excuses - but there is a justified reason.

Of course they have the same rights as anyone, but is that to say that being fat is any more natural than being an alcoholic?

Both abuse their bodies, both put themselves in danger.
Abusing their bodies in the same way that an anorexic does.

Are you going to now say that people shouldn't go out with anorexics? Or self harmers? Or smokers?
u wouldn't necesarily need a phd to get a valid opinion - a normal degree would be sufficient

oh so true.
Ok - what about smokers? Should someone go out with a smoker?
