can someone plllzzzz help me...
how to calculate hatch rate of brine shrimp??
my exam is day after!!!!!

Hatch rate= no of eggs hatched/ time taken.

Rate is always as something divided by time. So it could be this too

Hate rate= no of eggs hatched after 24hrs

So the units might differ. Or it can be

Hatch rate= 1/(time taken for 10 eggs to hatch)

But this is practically difficult. So depending on the context or your experiment it might differ. It should be a sensible so as to compare with other results sensibly.

To anyone who needs it, here's the IAL June 2014 scientific article on COPD:
www.britishcouncil.org/ial_biology_wbi05_01_scientific_article.pdf

Here's the pre-released article. I'm not sure whether this is the one you're getting though.

The code should be the same as the code in your entry form/whatever.

Imagine getting the wrong article

The article seems a bit shorter than the previous year's :s-smilie:

This article is for those sitting the Edexcel IAL (International Advanced Level) exams. Not Edexcel GCE. Please don't end up studying the wrong one :colone:
for the habituation experiment these are some variables that must be controlled
age of snail
size of snail
species of snail
how will each variable affect the time taken to re-emerge from the shell?
can someone plz help....
exam is tomorrow.....
Thankss

thanks for reassurance , seriously feel panicked though!

I think i remember seeing you post on the u1/2 last year.. how did you end up doing if you don't mind me asking? and what are you aiming for?

Somehow I got 115/120 in both but that won't be happening this time!!

No worries mate, no point stressing I'm sure we'll be so prepared that the margin for failure will be tiny!

You probably did, I got a B kinda disappointed just because I left revision late for unit 2. Funnily enough i got the same UMS for both unit 1 and 2, so i'm only like 6 marks off an A.

I only need a B actually, so thats seems very achievable tbh.

You did fricking amazing, but im guessing your firm requires an A?

Yeah it does but an A* seems so achievable, some years only 65-67!
Im still in a panic! Keep having small flusters and feel like crying :frown:

Hope you get that B/A/A* btw!

How far is everyone with revision for this/unit 4?

And do we think the boundaries will be lower this time?

guys... is anyone doing IAL? coz apparently the scientific article is about COPD(chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases)

Has anyone made or have a list of topics to revise for the article ? :|
Can anyone help...My alternative practical paper had a 10 mark question on Investigating effectiveness of spider on control of leafhopper nymphs...(i cant be sure, i am bad at recalling) ... i wrote too few i guess i will lose quite a bit of marks here....
