Helloooooo!
In chemistry at the moment, we've just been going over emperical formula, definitions, relative formula mass, relative isotopic mass, isotopes ect... I think my teacher is just making sure that we have a strong foundation of knowledge. But, I hope this doesn't continue much longer because I just want to just start the course properly!

What's everyone else doing in chemistry at the moment?

I've just finished AS Chemistry and got an A (OCR Salters) Currently studying A2 and I want to do chemistry at uni, so if anyone on here needs any help understanding something, feel free to PM me and I'll try and help you! Good luck

Hi! I just started Chemistry AS. We're studying moles, Avogadro constant and Hess's law right now. I think our teachers are going a bit too slow at the moment, but I can understand that because half the class is absolutely clueless, the majority of the other half has some vague ideas regarding the work, and there are a few people who actually know what they're doing. So it's hard to fit stuff in... I hope we get on to electron orbitals, they look interesting...
Hi everyone, I just finished my entire Chemistry A-level, if anyone wants to ask questions then here seems like a good place to do it.

I did Edexcel and got an A overall. I'll also try and get the attention of some of the TSR members who are doing chemistry related degrees at uni to help you guys out!

Moles, Avagadro's Constant ... I'm assuming is what you lot first learn. That's what I did.

Don't hesitate if you want to PM, I'll be more than happy to help you out!

Hi guys,
I am currently studying A2 chemistry with OCR A, I got an A at AS and hoping to study chemistry at university.
Feel free to quote or PM me if you need any help

YAAY ready for a year of hardcore chemistry...
Hi fellow chemistry students!! :wavey: I'm on the AQA exam board, and I'm currently doing empirical formula with one teacher and the structure of the atom (particularly history and how our ideas have developed) with the other. Which is nice, as both topics are revision from GCSE!

Hello :h: thanks for this  I'll get to creating the physics one in a minute after i've just finished this M2 homework :h:

That would be nice thank you :h: and yeah that's where i started, we've moved on slightly now to stoiciometry and gas volumes :h:

No worries and yeah the formulas you learn now will be useful in both the rest of the AS course and the A2 course. These formulas aren't just for your Unit 1, but all the other units will need them too.

A-level chemistry starts off with the basics and gradually builds on your existing knowledge, so nail the basic formulas and you will find things a breeze!

I'm assuming that should be ionisation energy

How come you're doing M2? Shouldn't you be doing M1 and C1?

Further maths :frown: ...which means i'm currently learning M2 before M1 and it's not going so good really :frown:
Fellow chemistry students, hello :h: I started the AS course last week and so far, so good. We've done basic chemistry that we did at GCSE to make sure everyone has the same level of knowledge and with one teacher we've started mass spectrometry and with the other teacher we've started ionic bonding.

At least we all have each other come exam time!
Finally just finished M2 homework.. so i'll get making the physics one now :h:

Hello! My teacher started off with Mass Spectrometry and Fingerprinting, but we also did definitions as well. With my other teacher we did loads of calculations with moles etc. I hope you are enjoying Chemistry
