My final score for OCR A ISA's is 37/40.....what are my chances of still getting an A? Everyone else in my class has 38/39/40 :frown:

The ISA grade boundaries don't often change, you'll never need more than 37 for an A, it's usually 36. Don't worry too much your exams are worth more and are much easier to work towards and improve i find
I've got my EMPA tomorrow and I'm pretty sure I'm gonna fail miserably. :frown:

Last year you needed 35 for an A, and the years before 34 marks were needed. I don't think it would have gone up by two marks since last year.
I am stuck on a question asking me to decribe the appearance of Ammonium Iron(II) Sulfate crystals worth 2 marks.

I know they are light green/blue green but what extra information should I add for the 2nd mark.

PLEASE HELP!!!!!

When assigning oxidation numbers to NaClO would Na or Cl take priority?

So O is -2
Na is +1 and Cl is -1 so which would i use to determine which is +3 or +1?

Group 1 metal ions will always have a +1 oxidation state

Why does oxygen dissolve in water?

It can form hygrogen bonds with the water as it is highly electronegative.

But how can hydrogen bonds form?

There's only an O in the O2?
