why did he lie? (bf thing)

This is going to sound like such a pathetic problem, but it's just playing in my mind. Yesterday, my boyfriend texted me and said 'hey babe, I just been for a game of football with dad down the park'. which is just very random. lol. he texted me then for a while telling me won and all the funny stuff had happened with his dad. However, it turns out he went down the park with ten friends for a game of football, not his dad (I know this because one of his friends texted while I was paying space riders on his mob). I mean why lie about that? what is the point? I don't understand why he would lie about something like that. Can anyone give me any insight into this odd thing? I know it's nothing worth asking about, but I mean why lie? what is the point of lying about a game of football :confused:

Weird. Have you had arguments about him going out with his friends before? Maybe he wanted to avoid that. Maybe it was some bizarre joke?

My opinion is that he didnt want you to feel that he was choosing his mates over you. Thats just me tho, i dont kno the depth of the situation tho, but yeah, maybe he just ddnt want to hurt ur feelings by saying he was with his mates, rather than being with you.

Do u not get on with his mates? Did he have prior arrangements to be with you?
