Maintenance Loan and Maintenance Grant

Hey all, quick question

If I send my student finance form off today (Had a LONNNNNNNG few months...), when would I expect to here anything from Student Finance?

Also, I know this is random, but can someone confirm that I'd get both lots of money, as the bloke at the Citizens Advice Bureau reckons the grant would just bring down the amount of the loan I pay back, as opposed to having two lots of cash.

I would advise to apply as soon as possible, the application process can take from 4-6 weeks to complete.
Initially you would receive a confirmation that your application has been submitted for processing following that a notification of entitlement letter to confirm your entitlement to finance.

If you have a low household income then you would normally be eligible for a grant, if your household income is below £25,000.00 for the financial year 2011/2012 then you would receive the maximum grant entitlement.
Which is currently £3354.00 per academic year.

You would also receive a maintenance loan based on your household income
and a tuition fee loan of up to £9000.00 which is not based on household income.
