BSc Management or BSc Business Administration

I've applied for Business Management at my other four choices, but I don't know which degree I should apply for at UoB. I like more the two six-month placements the Business Administration offers, but my whole PS is focused on Business Management and I don't want to ruin my chances of getting into UoB. What is the difference between the two degrees? I mean, I know Business Administration is more general, but are they basically the same thing? Could I get into a Business Administration degree with a PS very focused on Business Management?

I'm starting the Business admin course this September, and my personal statement was really broad as some of my choices were economics based!

The Management course is brand new for 2014 entry, so they won't have any preconceptions for the applicants. In all honesty I believe the courses are really similar, the main difference as you said being the 2 placements in the business admin course. The reason I chose the business admin course is because it allows me to specialise in whatever aspect of business I choose from year 2 onwards, whether its finance, marketing etc, so if you want guaranteed breadth, I can say that the BBA would give that to you, whereas I can't speak for the Management course (I'm sure it's fab though)

I'd say your best bet is to phone up bath and be really honest, say you understand it's a new course and they might not be able to tell you heaps on it, but say you want to hear the differences put plainly.

But I certainly wouldn't worry about your personal statement being a risk - as long as you're passionate about any aspect of business, and show that you'd be an asset to the uni, they'll want you to be a student within the 'Management Department' which houses all of the business-y degrees.
