Nursing 2014 - mature students

Hi, I'm 23 applying to study nursing September 14. As I'm classed as a mature student I'm being assessed individually, just wondering if anybody can speak from experience what criteria they had or have to meet as a mature student to be successful?

I've been working in the care sector since 18 and am now working as a Senior Care Assistant having completed NVQ2 and 3, only 170 ucas points from A Levels though have just finished a Certificate of Higher Education in Healthcare Practice with the OU and my employer and have science based credits with the OU also. Have Bs in maths, physics and bio gcse's and a C in English.

Hi Stacey - I'm applying as a mature student too, and there's lots of this sort of information on www.studentnurse.forum. It's also worth emailing some admissions tutors where you'd be interested in applying - I went to open days last year and asked everyone I met whether my qualifications were ok and what I should do, and that was really helpful.
