I think Weatherspoons is quite sophisticated, from what I've seen when passing by - Although it isn't really posh or anything.

Have a good time.

I won't be going to Manc Wetherspoons then. I disagree with 'scally hangout'!

There about 50 different wetherspoons in Greater Manchester. (5 in the city centre) It depends which one you go to, I just don't see the point though as there are far nicer bars which are just as cheap. I like Wetherspoons Lloyds as they place music and have more attomsphere but most wetherspoons are like bear halls full of scruffy old men like most pubs.

I just prefer bars as it tends to be more younger people and bettere music etc. I like the Paramount on Oxford Road though despite nearly being killed walking past there last week when some drunk woman fell out of the door and nearly landed on top of me.

The ones in Leeds seemed quite sophisticated.

I like Weatherspoons because of the lack of music - I find it really difficult to hear people with a lot of background noise - and it's about 100 times worse when it's music in the background.

Weatherspoons for me means a night out were I don't spend 95% of my time going "what?" "pardon" "sorry I can't hear you" before giving up and getting really pissed of.

I think Wetherspoons is ok in big groups bit if there are just two of you it gets quite boring. Also I would much prefer to support my local indepent bars owned by locals.

The beer is not as nice in Wetherspoons either. I find it a bit sweet.
