Imperial College Postgrad Applications 2014

Thought it would be a good idea to start a new thread for ICL postgrad applications :smile:

I want to do Advanced Chemical Engineering and my current profile is...

University: Teesside University

Predicted grade: 2:1 but can push to a 1st

Work experience:
Laboratory Technician/ Assistant at Teesside University

Project Manager and Operations Engineer at Sembcorp Utilities

Production and Process Engineer at Sonangol in Angola

Campus Ambassador for Careers in Africa

Extra Curricular:
Project Manager for Enactus

Founder and Chairman for Limitless Change society

Member of Archery Club

Can't wait to start applying, do the applications usually open around November?

Also I had some grades that were a bit low do to personal reasons that the university knows about, so I was thinking of getting a transcript of my grade of this coming year and sending that as I believe I will get really high grades since am studying already for next year what do you guys think?

I will apply for the new msc in finance accounting program. Hope that this new program would required less math than the finance one. preparing for all the admission materials.

Hey!

I plan to to apply for a taught masters in applied mathematics.

Graduated this year & currently doing a gap year.

Got a first in Bsc Maths & Econs, UOL international programmes.

Can anyone help evaluate my chances?

I'll also be applying to LSE & UCL but this is by far my first choice because of the focus on physics.

Good point on the lurkers! Didn't think about that, is the session just about the business school or postgrad in general?

HI, I applied the same course and still waiting for offers - application send on 30 Nov, but my 2nd reference were submitted on 20 Dec.
I'm currently doing 3rd mech eng in Bristol, got 64% and 70% for my 1&2 year.
Could your share you profile and advice me my change of getting the offer, thx!!

Hi Bearpit,

I am actually a student from the USA, so I can't really speak to grades in the UK system. I earned the equivalent of a 1st class degree in a very difficult quantitative, multidisciplinary natural sciences joint degree.

Rather than listing my credentials (they don't bear on your candidacy), I would say that the key to any application is articulating a sustained interest in your field of choice, a vision for where you want to go professionally, and specifics about which resources your desired program and university have which will be essential to achieving your goals.
