Achieved grades Vs. Predicted Grades

I reckon you'll have a good chance at getting an offer with the grades in hand. I applied with achieved grades albeit a different course, but many other have managed to get places post A-level too. But in order to remain a good candidate to the selectors, you'll need to have a very good personal statement that reflects what you did during your gap year. Gap years without any productivity doesn't look great. Good luck!

I can't remember the exact figures, but something like half of predicted grades are optimistic (looking at the whole set, that is, rather than each subject having a 50% rate of error) so I would think that you having actually achieved that shouldn't give you a significant disadvantage against people predicted to get 3/4A*. Some schools have it that you just need to have an A at AS whereas others want to see AS UMS > 90%; LSE will be aware of this limitation and adjust their judgement accordingly.
