Can you get your internet taken away for watching porn?

A friend of mine is insisting we will get our internet taken for watching porn/typing in certain words into the search engine. I'm convinced this is bull****, as we're not 12, but can universities actually do this lmao?
Not unless the porn is illegal

No, although my university did ban torrent downloading.

Think how many students would have no internet if they did that and then what would happen when they all needed internet to get access to electronic journals or whatever. The library at my uni couldn't cope with that, doubt many could.

Hypothetically, if you signed up to a usage agreement, I think they're entitled to cut you off. However, in practice it's doubtful whether it's worth their time and effort trying to catch you. :dontknow:
depends on terms of service. Most likely yes.

Probably best not to discuss torrenting or any other illegal activity if you don't want warning points.

(That's not a threat, since I wouldn't be the one giving them!)
Probably not, I'm sure the answer will be in whatever user agreement you signed though.
