I love learning to drive!

OK so I've left learning to drive quite late considering I've just turned 19. I've had three lessons and about the same amount of private practice and I just LOVE it. I've really taken to it, haven't stalled once in the lessons - we were doing 70 in 5th gear today! Loves it!

How long did it take others here to pass? My instructor says average is 25 hours of lessons + 20 hours private practice.

Already started theory

Me too.

As for theory, I did it after 3 lessons. Didn't revise or learn it apart from the night before/on the day. It's piss easy - more common sense than actual knowledge.

Try doing 70 in 3rd, FAR better acceleration! Oh, and I passed after 11 lessons and no privarte practise. Driving tests are easy and once you pass, you can start enjoying driving .

I hate learning to drive. Don't get me wrong, I like driving and everything; I just hate being restricted to doing what my instructor wants me to do. Hmm, I have my test at the end of July and I'll have had about 20 hours driving time by then (all lessons, no private as I don't and won't be getting a car).
20 lessons, I'm ready..........my insturctor milks stuff though, I mean come on, do I really need one lesson for EACH reverse move?

My first instructor wasted 25 minutes of a 1 hour lesson, just sitting in the car explaining how to approach a cross roads.. with a little toy car and a piece of paper with a cross roads drawn on it. 25 minutes!!

that was the last lesson he had out of me.. taking the piss!
i hated learning to drive, my instructor was an old man. i doubt it´ll take you that long if youve picked it up quickly. i took about 20 hours but friends of mine did it in like 8 hours with no past experience.

I hate being told what to do too. I only enjoy going at 60mph+ and when I'm allowed to make my own way home with no instruction.
I have had about 28 lessons and no private practise (except a sneaky 5 min drive in my friends car. Shh!) and I have got my test in 2 weeks. Mucho scared.

I learnt my theory on the 20 minute train ride to the centre and only got one wrong in the questions.
I've just started too... and I love it! Only had two lessons though, so a long way to go!

Haha I wouldn't like to be an instructor without dual controls!

I've had 12 hours of lessons and have just started my reverse round the corner. I love learning to drive - although Im finding I prefer general driving to the manouvers. I cant wait till I pass my test! I love driving!
I liked learning to start with but now I know I can get around perfectly safely etc it's really frustrating me that I've not taken my test yet and that I'm restricted to driving with a supervisor or in my lessons and I can't really go where I want to go.

Also I'm driving two different cars atm and it's really confusing!

EDIT:Also I think my instructor is 'milking it' too...lol...last week we were going to do parallel parking but there wasn't a suitable place...conveniently...did it today though....I only practice the manouvres for 10-15 minutes each lesson then just drive around for the rest...even though I know how to bloody drive around!

I have had foiur hours so far...doing manouvers today, which I'm abit scared of.
Hehe. I know, it can be mad can't it  Gives you feeling of control, in a good way, if you do the right thing and follow the rules to a T. Ironically gives you more freedom.
