 Hello There!

I'm currently a 2nd year MPharm at UEA. Honestly, I did not go for the open day. So, I am not sure what sort of things you already heard and want to hear from me.

Well for a start I could tell you that UEA MPharm is a tough course. ( at least it is for me). However, it's quite fun. The lab works are quite cool. YOu can make and mix your own cough syrup, cream, ointment, etc. However, the lab report would be the toughest job for me. My student advisor has been very helpful. All you need is to book an appoinment to see him and discuss your problems (if you have). Lecturers would be the same. MOst of them are very helpful.

The thing about UEA pharmacy is we have 4 placements a year. It really helps me to overview which area I want to work for my future carrier. Sometimes, closer to summer holiday or christmas break or easter break, there would be loads of job vacancies related to the course in the mailing list or in the Pharmcay notice board which you could apply to.

The learning system is quite good. MOst of the time, we work as a team. IN there, we could learn and try to interact with different people and make new friends.

Erm,.. that's my story. if you got anything to ask, I'll try my best to answer it. oh yeah,.. Congratulation and welcome to UEA Pharmacy!!!!

HI
Ive just finished 1st year of pharmacy at UEA.....yeah its about 25-30 hours a week i would say!!!! I found it pretty harsh in the 1st term.....but i think that was just getting used to it all.

Its a very tough course.....we had 9 exams in total over the exam period, wheras most of the other courses 2-5 exams! also we had course tests starting from about the 7th week of the 1st term! Also there is a lot of lab reports...but i found them ok.

But its good and ive really enjoyed the course so far, its very social due to the fact everybody spends a lot of time together! ive enjoyed a lot of things about the course....especially (as mentioned) the formulation labs, which were a lot of fun....but a little messy!
